Assistant Director – OSH
The Assistant Director provides support to the Director to carry out the safety and health operations of the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) office. The OSH office collaborates with UFCW Departments and Divisions to integrate workplace safety and health into the work they do with an emphasis on UFCW-growth related activities. The OSH office works with OSHA and other relevant outside agencies, as well as other labor unions, worker centers and coalitions, to advocate for UFCW worker safety and health. The OSH office provides training, education, and technical assistance for International Union staff and local union officers, staff, stewards and member activists.
The UFCW Digital Organizing Department is seeking a Creative Lead to craft and develop visual storytelling capabilities. The ideal candidate will create and develop visual storytelling across multiple platforms, using both photography and videography to inform and engage our target audiences. Successful candidates are creative, collaborative self-starters with a strong visual design background who keep up with digital trends and are experienced in creating original content for social media marketing campaigns, websites, apps, and other digital media properties for nonprofits, companies, or political campaigns. Compassion for others and a commitment to supporting working people struggling to have a better life are musts for this position.
The International Chemical Workers Union Council seeks applications for the position of Instructor at its Center for Worker Health and Safety Education, located in Cincinnati, Ohio. Instructors teach emergency response and hazardous waste classes in Cincinnati and at various national locations. Topics include the use of personal protective equipment, rights and responsibilities, resources, hands-on spill response, and other related topics to the membership of twelve participating organizations.
Meetings and Event Manager
UFCW is seeking a Meetings and Events Manager primarily responsible for planning preparations and supporting on-site management for meetings, conferences, and events. Responsibilities include preparing and finalizing logistical details, including budgets and resource allocations, to develop Requests for Proposals (RFPs) aimed at contracting with hotels and other meeting venues, site selection recommendations, meeting and function space design, housing, food and beverage coordination, and associated contract negotiations. This position requires the ability to maintain strict confidentiality with highly sensitive information.
Web/Digital Content Lead
We are looking for creative, collaborative self-starters with a strong visual and user experience design background who keeps up with digital trends and are experienced in creating effective visual experiences for websites and other digital media properties for nonprofits, companies, or political campaigns. Compassion for others and a commitment to supporting working people struggling to have a better life are musts for this position. The Web/Digital Content Lead will also elevate and express UFCW’s position, values, and represent our membership through branded content and digital experiences.
Occupational Safety and Health Specialist
The OSH Specialist conducts safety and health trainings to staff, stewards and members. Organizing, both internal and external, will be a key function. The OSH Specialist will participate in organizer trainings and in organizing campaigns. This position will work on campaigns, as assigned by the Director, in coordination with the Organizing Department. The OSH Specialist will also service as liaison with the International Chemical Workers Union Council (ICWUC) Safety and Health Training Center.
Secretary – Region 5
UFCW is seeking a Secretary to the Region Director that will serve principally as secretary and personal assistant to the Region Director. The Secretary will also perform the clerical, secretarial, administrative and business detail for the Director and staff. This position is located in Atlanta, Georgia.
