Training

The OSH office offers in-person or online training to help our members gain practical knowledge on how to keep themselves and others safe at work.

The OSH Office completes safety walkthroughs at local unions’ requests. We also develop training materials and programs to educate workers in various industries on how to prevent and mitigate safety and health issues on the job. Browse through examples of workplace safety and health issues below.

Active Assailant

Learn about the risk factors and warning signs of active violence incidents, civilian response, and how to engage union efforts to protect workers from active assailants.

Active Violence Immediate Response (AVIRT)

This interactive training teaches participants the predictors of active shooter events, how to control bleeds, how to defend the workplace, and how to disarm an active shooter.
