Workers at two Zara stores in Greenwich and Norwalk, Conn., recently joined UFCW Local 919 for a better life.

The 43 workers joined our union family because of the UFCW’s leadership as the top union in the country representing retail workers. They also wanted a voice in the workplace like their unionized colleagues in New Jersey and New York, who are represented by UFCW Local 888 and RWDSU/UFCW Local 1102.

“Zara has proven to be an upstanding employer, honoring a well established and well respected neutrality agreement,” said UFCW Local 919 Secretary-Treasurer Jason Dokla. “We look forward to fruitful negotiations on our new members behalf!”

“We are pleased and honored to welcome these employees into the Local 919 family,” said UFCW Local 919 President Mark A. Espinosa. “It is exciting to begin the bargaining process with a new international company.”
