Local 75 Kroger Workers Gain Better Wages With Contract Modification

May 17, 2023 Updated: June 8, 2023

Members of UFCW Local 75 who work at 104 Kroger stores in Cincinnati and Dayton, Ohio, and northern Kentucky strengthened their wages by modifying their contract on April 16.

The original contract was ratified in May of 2021. However, due to members’ concerns about inflation, UFCW Local 75 took action to address cost of living adjustments by modifying the contract before the agreement expires in three years.

The contract modifications include:

  • An additional $.50 for a total of $1.45 for all top-rated clerks hired between Feb. 17, 1982 and Feb. 17, 2002.
  • An additional $.50 for a total of $.90 for all other top-rated clerks.
  • An additional $.50 for a total of $1.00 for all department heads.
  • An increase in starting rates in the Food Clerk classification to $13.20.

“With a 95 percent approval rating by the membership, the additional $.50 was well deserved and warranted to defend against the high inflation trends,” said UFCW Local 75 President Kevin Garvey. “We have three years left in the agreement, and I am not opposed to going back to Kroger to do it again.”
