While 2020 was a difficult year for many retailers, Macy’s brought in $24.6 billion in revenue – more than any other department store. While the company broke records, we dealt with store closures and reopenings, and continued risks to our health. More recently in the California Bay Area, we have seen an increase in work floor violence, including incidents of vandalism, physical intimidation, and harassment, putting our own safety at risk.
We are the reason this company remains successful. We deserve a say in how our stores are run and how this success is shared. It’s time for Macy to listen and acknowledge all of our hard work by providing us with the wages, benefits, and safety standards we deserve.
