Fair Wages

Union grocery workers negotiate for fair wages and guaranteed raises- all protected in writing. In fact, just last year Stater Bros workers in Southern California negotiated a contract that gave a majority of their workers at least $3.45 in hourly increases in just three years! 

You deserve real raises and fair wages. Together we can make it happen. 

Fair scheduling and guaranteed hours 

Union grocery workers have the chance to negotiate a contract with predictable, guaranteed hours and a fair process that ensures everyone is treated fairly. Like in Arizona, where Fry’s and Safeway workers bargained for a 40 hours per week guarantee for full-time workers. Or in Northern California, where part-time Safeway workers won a guarantee of at least 24 hours per week. 

You deserve a predictable schedule, and the hours you need to support your family. That’s the union difference. 

Health and Safety Protections 

Union grocery workers have the strength they need to hold management accountable to ensure they receive essential safety training, their equipment is well maintained, and they feel safe reporting workplace hazards that need fixing. 

Union workers have the protection, training, and support they need to always work safe. And if they ever have an accident on the job, they know the union is there to back them up and help them get the care they need. 

Respect on the Job 

All workers deserve a company that values their hard work and managers who treat them with respect. Having a union makes sure that your voice is always heard, and that you have an outlet to report and solve issues of favoritism, harassment, or discrimination. When workers come together as a union, the company has no choice but to listen to their voice.

Workers at all of these companies have achieved incredible things with their unions, and it’s time Cardenas and Los Altos Ranch workers had a chance to do the same.
