Immigration Resources for Packing & Processing Workers

Know Your Rights as a Packing & Processing Worker

Due to ongoing attacks on immigrants in our communities and workplaces, it’s more important than ever for you to know your rights when it comes to federal immigration policy. As an international union, UFCW fights hard to protect the rights of hardworking immigrants who contribute so much to our country.

We’re here to help you understand your rights and protect your right to work at a meatpacking facility here in the U.S. See below for important info about TPS protections, the UFCW UCAN Citizenship program, and our newly-available immigration resources created for workers like you. Connect with your union representative to access exclusive immigration webinars and additional materials designed to support you.

UCAN Program

Applying for U.S. citizenship can be a difficult and lengthy process, but we’re committed to helping our members fulfill their dreams of becoming an American citizen. UFCW Local offices all over the country are partnering with NOVO Legal Group and Citizenshipworks to offer a program called the United Citizenship Action Network (UCAN) that helps our members secure their futures in the U.S.

The UCAN program offers our members legal resources and naturalization clinics to make the path to citizenship feel possible. Our goal is to empower you with all the resources you need to kickstart your journey to becoming a citizen.
