What We’re Fighting For With Our Union
Balanced Workloads:
Our work at AHRC is demanding, and for too long, we’ve put up with unsustainable workloads that leave us feeling burned out and unable to provide our patients the care they deserve. That’s why we’re using our union to fight for sustainable and fair expectations on the job. It’s time we make sure we aren’t being asked to do too much, so we can do more for our patients.
Living Wages
Here at AHRC, we play an essential role in supporting the well-being of our communities, and we deserve to be paid accordingly. With our union, we can fight for wages that keep up with the rising cost of living. Together, we can set a fair standard for the value of our hard work, and we can keep raising the bar for how we’re paid in the years to come.
Protections from Understaffing
Understaffing has no place at AHRC. When we don’t have enough staff scheduled, it makes it so much harder for us to do our jobs and look out for our own well-being. That’s why we’re pushing for fair minimum staffing levels written into a union contract. Establishing guaranteed protections against understaffing will help us ensure we meet our patients’ needs, as well as our own.
Respect for our Essential Work
At AHRC, we work incredibly hard to take care of our patients. But, we don’t feel like our organization respects our hard work. Having a union will help us establish our voice on the job and stand up for the dignity we deserve. With our union backing us up, we’ll be able to make sure we’re treated fairly every time we clock in.
