Local 7 Members Ratify Contract with King Soopers

UFCW Local 7 grocery workers at Kroger-owned King Soopers in Denver, Colo., ratified the contract drawn up by federal mediator Scot Beckenbaugh. Employees approved the agreement by a 60-percent vote through mail-in ballots, which were tallied on Saturday.
The contract is similar to other supermarket agreements recently ratified in northern California, Las Vegas and Seattle, ensuring affordable family health care.
Negotiations between Local 7 employees and supermarkets Safeway and Albertsons are still ongoing.
