Local 7 Workers Ratify Four-Year Contract with Safeway

UFCW Local 7 workers ratified a four-year contract with Safeway by a 65 percent vote after mail-in ballots were counted Saturday. The agreement affects more than 9,000 supermarket employees in Colorado and western Wyoming.
The contract is similar to one drafted by a federal mediator and approved by Local 7 workers at Kroger-owned King Soopers earlier this month. Local 7 employees at Albertsons have not reached a contract agreement with the supermarket yet.
