We slaughter beef, pork, and lamb stock. We cut up and trim the meat shipped to supermarkets, hotels and restaurants, and for export to countries worldwide. We smoke meat and make products like hot dogs, hams, bacon, and sausage. We catch and process chicken.

We do some of the toughest, most dangerous jobs around.

But with union representation, we are making our jobs safer. We are gaining rights at work, earning respect and dignity, and the wages and benefits we need and deserve for our families.

The ever-changing dynamics of the packing and poultry industries bring special concerns to the table. The workforce in these industries is diverse, with new immigrants making up a major percentage of workers in packinghouses in particular.
