Information on Anthrax
(11/01)The safety and health of workers are being challenged by the emergence of a new threat: the disease Anthrax as a weapon of terrorism. Anthrax is an acute infectious disease caused by the spore-forming bacterium Bacillus anthracis. Anthrax most commonly occurs in wild and domestic animals such as cattle, sheep, goats, camels, antelopes and deer. It can also occur in humans when they are exposed to infected animals or tissue from infected animals
If you have questions or concerns about anthrax exposure or illness you may access Anthrax disease information from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention and Occupational Safety and Health websites.
