The approaching 2008 election has put America’s health care crisis back into the national spotlight.  With that in mind, let’s examine some of the myths and basic facts about health care in America.

MYTH 

 FACT

All Americans have access to America’s health care system regardless of race, ethnicity, income or geographic location.
Uninsured Americans have access to medical care when needed since hospital emergency rooms are always available.
A majority of uninsured Americans are unemployed.
Reforming our country’s health care system is just too costly.
The rising cost of health care is not a real threat to the U.S. economy.
Health care reform will reduce the quality of care in America and eliminate consumer choice.
