Two UFCW Members, Two Family Members Win Union Plus Scholarships
Two UFCW members and two children of UFCW members were selected as winners of the 2007 Union Plus Scholarship awards.
Three were awarded $1,000 scholarships each:

Catherine Q. O'Neill of Glendale, Calif., a UFCW Local 770 member

Daniel Agalsoff of Hacienda Heights, Calif., whose mother is a UFCW Local 1428 member.

Alexander J. Suihkonen of Tower, Minn., whose mother is a UFCW Local 1116 member.
One UFCW member won a $500 scholarship:

Steven Sobie of Schaumburg, Ill., a UFCW Local 881 member
The four are among 103 students from 45 unions awarded a total of $150,000 in scholarships from the Union Plus Scholarship program. These awards were given to students who are from union families or are union members themselves and attending two-year or four-year colleges, or attending recognized technical or trade schools.
Winners were chosen from more than 5,500 applicants received from 58 unions in all 50 states and many territories, as well as
