UFCW Joins Coalition to Oppose Wal-Mart’s Application into Banking

The UFCW has joined the Sound Banking Coalition in sending a letter to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) opposing Wal-Mart’s application into banking. In its public application, Wal-Mart has attempted to evade public disclosure of basic responsive information that does not warrant confidential treatment--making it impossible for the public to adequately assess the merits of the Application.
