Congressional Voting Records
The 109th Congress was undistinguished, unimpressive, and has even been labeled the "do-nothing Congress." While the UFCW lobbies for important worker issues (such as pension security, minimum wage, Employee Free Choice Act), the final votes on the Congressional floor were uninstructive.
This is why voting for candidates who best represent working families is so critical. Who we vote into Congress decides what issues get considered in Congress: what gets debated, what gets heard in committess, and what gets enacted into law. Looking at the voting records below of representatives and senators shows their priorities in Congress. A simple examination of the difference in votes of Senators Frist (R-TN) and Reid (D-NV), as well as Representatives Hastert (R-IL) and Pelosi (D-CA), clearly show who and what they represent.
Please use the PDFs of the Congressional voting records below as a tool for the elections on November 7th. UFCW members can have a voice in making sure the 110th Congress is more distinguished, impressive, and instructive.
