Updated Social Security Guide Shows Big Privatization Risks

What would President Bush's privatization plan for Social Security really do for workers and retirees? An updated guide from the Economic Policy Institute has some answers, with research often showing that recipients would be worse off with private accounts. For example, the guide highlights new research by the nonpartisan Congressional Research Service, which finds that a worker born today who adopts a private account would only have 52% of what he would have with Social Security's guaranteed benefit.
