Wilson Workers: Carolyn

We wanted a union because of the degrading way supervisors spoke to us. Sometimes our working conditions were working for seven days and staying late too. Our wages worked so that people coming in off the street could make more money than the ones who had two or more years of servi ce. We had no say-so about nothing.

The company did not want us to have a union. They showed anti-union movies and told us dues would be $450 per month. They told us we didn’t need a union to tell us what to say or how to be. The movies told us that different plants had closed because of the union, and they made this threat over and over about the plant was going to close.
