Retail Stores
Nearly 80,000 of us work in retail stores. We work as salespersons, both salaried and commissioned, for companies that run the gamut from carrying daily needs and essentials - like the Red Deer Cooperative in Red Deer, Alberta -- to those that cater to more upscale and urban tastes -- like Sak's 5th Avenue or Macy's. We also stock the merchandise, create and design the displays, perform the carpentry and electrical work to create window and department displays, and work in support functions for ordering merchandise and keeping track of inventory.
While we work in diverse occupations at far flung locations, we benefit equally from the more than 150 agreements we have with large and small employers throughout North America.
