United Food and Commercial Workers International Labor Union

Young Member

Of all the unions in North America, the UFCW most closely matches the makeup of the workforce on the job today. In terms of age, gender, race, education, geographic distribution, and nearly every other characteristic, UFCW members are the changing faces of North American workers. With nearly 40 percent of UFCW members under 30-years-old, the union is the youngest, most vibrant, and best educated worker organization in North America.

The UFCW remains the strongest private sector union in North America, with one in every nine U.S. union members and one in 12 Canadian union members belonging to the UFCW.

" Let the workers organize. Let the toilers assemble. Let their crystallized voices proclaim their injustices and demand their privileges. Let all thoughtful citizens sustain them, for the future of labor is the future of America."
