Anthony M Perrone

Anthony “Marc” Perrone was elected International Secretary-Treasurer to the 1.3 million-member United Food and Commercial Workers International Union in March 2004.

In this capacity, his primary responsibility is monitoring the finances of the International Union. He is also responsible for the stewardship of the pension funds that will enable UFCW members to live out their retirement years in security and with dignity.

Perrone joined the Retail Clerks—which later became the UFCW—in 1971 while working as a courtesy clerk at Weingarten’s food store in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.  As a union activist for nearly four decades, he has held various positions with the UFCW, including Region 1 Director and National Director of Strategic Programs, Collective Bargaining and Organizing, among others. He was elected to the UFCW International Union Executive Committee in February 2000.

Marc has a B.A. in Labor Studies and has continued his education in the capital markets through programs at the Wharton School of Business. He is regular participant in national and international forums that include leading U.S. and European financial analysts.
